What is Dogcraft?
It is Bushcraft, but for dogs.
Tsanev Dogcraft is a training concept based on the methodology of Tsanev Bushcraft and developed by Ilko Tsanev as a training system. Here, structure, activities and freedom come together with nature to help owners build obedient, confident and balanced four-legged companions. Dogcraft teaches dogs and their families how to survive and thrive together — at home, outdoors and in the human world.
About the trainer:
My name is Ilko Tsanev — survival instructor and dog trainer. I began working with dogs in 2005 with my first working dog and have since trained many dogs in areas such as obedience, working with reactive animals and behaviour correction.
I hold a diploma in applied psychology, neuropsychology and psychotherapy from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, giving me a solid foundation for understanding behaviour, learning and motivation — in both dogs and their owners.
I am also an experienced survival instructor and have led courses and wilderness expeditions for years. This experience gives me a distinctive approach to training — preparing dogs to remain calm, obedient and reliable even in unpredictable outdoor conditions.
To support my expertise, I have also completed CPD-certified courses (internationally recognised continuing professional development courses), including:
